Many years after their battle with Majin Buu, Son Goku ultimately relocates to a secluded rural area with his wife and kids. Since he no longer needs to exercise as frequently now that the earth is no longer in danger from evil powers, Goku is no longer in top physical form.
However, a power that he is unfamiliar with materializes on earth all of a sudden. The god of devastation, Beerus, has descended to earth. He glimpsed the Super Saiyajin God in a prophetic dream, and as a result, he plans to fight the Super Saiyajin God. But who is this dreadful Saiyajin God actually?
Akira Toriyama wrote the manga series, which was illustrated by Toyotarou. The name of the show is Dragon Ball Super (in Japanese, Doragon Bru Sp), and it is frequently abbreviated as DBS. This story continues the adventures of Goku and his allies during the time skip of 10 years that follows the destruction of Majin Buu in Toriyama’s original Dragon Ball manga. It debuted as a serial in June 2015’s issue of Shueisha’s monthly shonen manga publication V Jump. The English translation of the manga is simultaneously published by Viz Media and Shueisha’s Manga Plus service.
A 131-episode anime television series produced by Toei Animation and based on the manga was broadcast in Japan between July 2015 and March 2018. A follow-up to the original film, Dragon Ball Super: Broly debuted in December 2018 and swiftly rose to the top of the anime film box office. A second film, Super Hero, was released to the public on June 11, 2022.
Plot: Goku is seen working as a farmer four years after defeating Majin Buu, and his friends and family are portrayed leading peaceful lives. However, Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens after a long period of sleep. Beerus is looking for a combatant known as the Super Saiyan God with the assistance of Whis, his Angel assistant and teacher. Beerus has sworn to end all life on Earth if this adversary defeats him. With the help of his comrades, Goku rises to the level of the Super Saiyan God, battles Beerus, and finally loses; nonetheless, Beerus is placated by Goku’s deeds and spares the Earth.
Then, as Goku and Vegeta are receiving training from Whis, the last of Frieza’s army gathers the Dragon Balls in an effort to resurrect Frieza. After completing his training, Frieza returns to Earth to seek his retribution. Golden Frieza has attained the Golden Frieza metamorphosis, but Goku and Vegeta, who are both proficient in the Super Saiyan Blue transformation, nevertheless defeat him. Out of retaliation, Frieza attempts to end the world, but Whis is able to go back in time and help Goku beat Frieza.
Beerus’s brother Champa, who is also Universe Six’s God of Destruction, convinces him to hold a competition between the best warriors from each of their respective worlds. The winner of the competition will receive the Super Dragon Balls, which are planet-sized and have nearly infinite power to fulfill wishes. In order for them to enjoy their food, Champa intends to trade Universe Six’s barren planet for Universe Seven’s. Goku and his friends made the decision to take part in the competition. The most crucial match in the competition is seen as taking place between Goku and Hit. Goku concedes the fight since he is unable to match Hit’s strength. When Hit withdraws from the championship match, Universe Seven triumphs. Beerus is fervently hoping that the Super Dragon Balls would revive Earth in Universe 6.
Lord Zen, the king of all planets, strikes up a chat with Goku, befriends him, and Goku swears to bring Lord Zen a companion. After some time has passed, Future Trunks shows up with the information about an enemy known as Goku Black, who resembles Goku. They arrive to the conclusion that Zamasu, an apprentice of the Supreme Kai from Universe Ten, is indeed Goku Black. As part of his plan to wipe out all humans, Zamasu used the Super Dragon Balls to steal Goku’s body from a prior timeline. [6] Ultimately, Future Zen assists Goku in getting back to the present, where he befriends Present Zen. Because of this, Zamasu and the future timeline are eliminated. Trunks leaves for an other timeline.
Both Zens will hold the Tournament of Power after some time has passed. Teams of fighters from eight of the twelve worlds compete in this event, and the losing universes are obliterated.
